If you still dream of Peggy, then you’ll love the bad babes featured in the below! Check out our list of movies for International Women’s Month and take some notes from these trailblazing women. Get your popcorn and spritzers and cheers to the HBICs in the workforce.

1. Makers: Women Who Make America (2013)

This docu-series covers the struggle for women’s equality over the last 5 decades! It features interviews with women from all social strata: from Hillary Clinton to coal miners. Learn about Betty Friedan, Gloria Steinem, and more women who inspired our House of Mod collection!

2. Hidden Figures (2016)

If you haven’t heard of this film, we are absolutely honored to drop some knowledge on you. This film is about the three African American female mathematicians who worked at NASA during the space race. Need we say more?

3. On the Basis of Sex (2018)

This is the epic story about legendary Ruth Bader Ginsberg (RBG!) and her fight for equal rights. When Ruth takes a groundbreaking case with her husband, her journey begins as a trailblazer for women's rights and how courts view gender discrimination.

4. Nine to Five (1980)

Dolly Parton. Lily Tamlin. Jane Fonda. These badass women overthrow their autocratic, sexist boss and it is just *chef’s kiss* that good.

5. Jeanne Dielman, 23 Quai de Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles

This film is quite long, we know, but well worth the watch. The masterpiece was the first of its kind and is said to perfectly portray the life of a housewife. It is a beautifully crafted world that goes from mundane to subtly chaotic within 3.5 hours.

6. Ladies and Gentleman, The Fabulous Stains (1982)

Diane Lane as your typical 80s angsty teenager living in nowhere land until she gets her punk band, The Stains, a tour gig. They quickly become media magnets and the rest is history!

House of Mod was created and curated to embody the girl boss within. The movie list is just a small glimpse at some of the legends that paved the way for women. Let’s celebrate them, us, and everyone in between this month and clink glasses with fresh manicures. Let us know on our IG if you watched any of the films!
